An ONS survey reveals that nearly twice as many renters as homeowners have seen their housing costs rise over the past six months. 41% of renters report finding it “very or somewhat difficult” to pay their rent, and 43% of those in private rental accommodation say they would be unable to cover an unexpected £850 expense.
